Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including hospice care, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need, ensuring their comfort and dignity while promoting independence.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Provide medication administration as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, particularly those dealing with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences. Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients in transferring or repositioning. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to relevant healthcare professionals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised care plans.

Experience

Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:

Hospice care or nursing home settings. Medication administration practices. Dementia care techniques and strategies. Home care or childcare experience is advantageous. First aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.
