Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Support individuals with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary. Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with special needs. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by following health and safety protocols. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Facilitate social activities and encourage participation to promote engagement and interaction. Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and general patient care practices is essential. A background in nursing or caregiving is advantageous. Certification in first aid is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility issues. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving are vital. A valid driving licence is necessary for transporting clients when required. Experience in childcare can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
