The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our supported living service in Ely. This role is truly special, as you will be providing person-centred support to two brothers with Fragile X Syndrome and traits of Autism.
How you will make a difference:
Support the Sports Enthusiast:
One brother is looking for someone to get involved in his love for sports and accompany him to watch Cambridge United. He needs a patient, positive, and prepared partner for his outings.
Support the Creative Mind:
The other brother has a passion for music, acting, drama, and arts and crafts. He thrives with a confident, jovial supporter who understands and respects his daily routines.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver person-centred support that empowers individuals to live their best lives.
Follow individual support plans and communication needs, including picking up on non-verbal cues.
Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
Maintain open, honest communication with the people we support, their families, and your teammates.
Requirements
Licence:
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Flexibility:
Various shift patterns, including alternate weekends and a requirement for sleep-ins.
Qualities:
A nurturing, supportive, and patient approach with strong communication skills.
Experience:
No experience? No problem. We provide excellent internal training for those new to social care. Already experienced? We will value and enhance the skills you bring to the team.
