We're looking for full-time (38 hours per week) Support Workers to join our committed team in St Albans, working with children and young people who are curious, active, and love trying new things. These young people blossom through connection, encouragement, and structured support and you'll be an essential part of that experience.

About the Role




As a Support Worker, you'll provide consistent, caring support to children with learning disabilities. You'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where they feel secure, valued, and able to thrive. Your week will include a mix of early shifts (7am3pm), late shifts (2pm10pm), and alternate weekends.


From morning routines and school drop-offs to preparing meals and supporting with homework, your day-to-day interactions will help build trust and independence. Your calm and encouraging approach will guide them through life's routines, challenges, and achievements.


While the children are at school, you'll help prepare their home for a relaxed and welcoming return. This might include tidying, organising activities, or planning an engaging evening. You'll also support with personal care and medication so they feel their best and ready to enjoy their day.


You'll receive tailored training and the opportunity to work towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, ensuring you're supported in your own professional development too.

enjoys creative activities like painting nails, colouring, and taking part in weekly drama classes that help build her self-expression.

Ben

enjoys simple pleasures like taking the bus to town for hot chocolate, bouncing at trampoline parks, and watching animated films.

Requirements



Female applicants only (Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010) A full UK driving licence (manual or automatic) is essential, as you'll be using service vehicles Your own vehicle insured for business use is also required

Training and Development
