Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in the field of Adult Day Opportunities, supporting adults with a learning, physical or sensory disability, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with this client group.

The Support Worker is part of the Day Opportunities Staff Team whose function is to support clients to be as independent as is possible in all programmes of activity.

They will attend to the personal needs of members under the direction and supervision of the Senior Support Worker.

Responsibilities:



To accompany and supervise adults with a Learning Disability on the transport to and from their home (where required) To carry out the agreed Aspace2 Policies for Health and Safety Regulations. Ensure that information received from home is related to the Centre and vice. -versa. Staff must act professionally at all times. Report to the Manager, Team lead, any untoward incidents, falls, accidents, complaints etc. and contribute to the maintenance of appropriate records within the established procedures. Assist in the provision of individual and group programmes. Assist with supervision of clients during lunch and lunch time recreation. Administer First Aid in the absence of the Senior Support Worker Participate in recreational trips, swimming programme, sport, and leisure programme. Accompany members, when appropriate, to locations outside the Centre e.g., College, Supportive Employment Schemes, and social outings. Support all clients to develop their creative skills appropriate to their cognitive ability level. Attend and contribute to Person Centred Planning meetings of members when required. Contribute to the maintenance of records required by the Centre. Participate in in-house training and other courses, as appropriate. Doing such other caring orientated tasks as may be required. Ensure that equipment and materials used for personal care are kept appropriately Ensure that the art equipment is left clean and tidy, ready for sessions. General Cleaning Duties.
Ensure that you are aware of and adhere to the Centre's procedures in respect of:

a. handling and security of money.

b. maintenance of records relating to the use of materials., COSHH.

c. reporting to senior staff unusual or significant behaviours of members.

d. reporting of untoward accidents, incidents, and complaints.

e. fire prevention.

f. health and safety.

Employees are required to be conversant with the Centre's policy and procedures on records management and to seek advice if in doubt.
