Role Description





Working for a leading face to face and video relay service company, you will be providing access and inclusion for our internal staff members/contractors by working remotely or in person as a

Personal Assistants

(PAs) and/or

Notetaker

. These roles contribute to access and inclusion by offering in-person or remote support, tailored to individual access requirements.



These are freelance roles, paid via invoice, with flexible hours, evening or weekend assignments may be required. If selected, the candidate will be asked to work for no set hours per week.



This could be in a variety of settings, such as:


During team meetings or 1:1s At training events or onboarding sessions In real-time (live notetaking) or post-event (summary notes) With colleagues who require communication and/or organisational support

You may be assigned to one or both roles depending on your skillset and client needs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




Personal Assistant (PA)




Supporting with organisation and time management (e.g., diary/calendar management) Helping manage workload and meeting follow-ups Providing access support in meetings (e.g., clarifying action points or assisting with understanding) Assisting with technical setup and ensuring access arrangements are met



Notetaker




Providing accurate, concise, and accessible notes during or after meetings and training sessions Using electronic or manual notetaking techniques (including live captioning if trained) Summarising key discussion points, decisions, and action items Formatting notes in line with the client's preferences



Person Specification:




Essential:




Experience providing access support as a PA, notetaker, or in a similar role Excellent written English and communication skills Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work flexibly and independently Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and impartiality Comfortable with technology (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Google Suite, MS Office) Understanding of Deaf culture and the social model of disability



Desirable:




Experience working with neurodivergent and/or Deaf clients. Experience using speech-to-text or electronic notetaking software Previous experience in higher education, workplace access, or disability support settings



Other General Requirements/Additional Notes





You must have appropriate equipment for working remotely and a stable high-speed internet connection.

This position may have access to highly confidential, sensitive information relating to the employees, customers, and technologies of Sorenson/SignVideo Communications. The individual must have the requisite integrity to maintain the information in the strictest confidence.

You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

We are a Face to Face, Video Relay Services and Video Remote Interpreting provider in the UK (United Kingdom). We provide British Sign Language (BSL) video interpreting services to enable communication between the community of over 150,000 deaf BSL users in the UK and hearing people. Our relay service allows users to make and receive BSL interpreted video calls so that they can effectively and effortlessly communicate with each other.
