Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. *Immediate start.

Responsibilities



Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Provide medication administration as per prescribed guidelines and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Support individuals with mobility needs and ensure their safety during activities. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the nursing staff. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and enhance their quality of life. Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a trusting relationship. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.

Skills



Previous experience in patient care within a nursing home or assisted living environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of medication administration practices and first aid procedures is essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and client needs. Understanding of hospice care principles is an advantage but not mandatory.
