Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. We provide 24hr support to 12 adults with learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to service users in a residential care home setting. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those in their care.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide support with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition. Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being. Implement positive behaviour support strategies to support residents with stress and distress. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff members. Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in support work, care homes, home care is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and resident needs.
