Protea Care Homes just opened a new Supported Living House in Kempston, Bedford.

We are now recruiting for a full time,part time and zero hour support workers

that can match our ambition to provide the highest quality of care. Experience of working within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework is advantageous however what is crucial is being able to work in a challenging environment. PCH is committed to train staff to work with PBS.

PCH are looking to recruit experienced support workers who will be able to successfully support our clients to reach their potential. This will include building up trusting and confident relationships, supporting clients around the home to do house hold chores, helping develop new skills such as cooking meals, finding new activities that broaden involvement in the local community, and increasing quality of life in all areas.

As a support worker you will also be expected to maintain accurate records, monitor progress in all areas of development, complete accurate incident reports when required, implement evidence based strategies when recommended by the PBS Specialist, and regularly attend team meetings. In order to be successful in your role you will have regular supervisions and team meetings with both the service manager and the PBS Specialist. We would like you to support our young people to reach their potential, either in a group or on a 1-1 basis in a professional and caring manner.

Essential Requirements:


Experience of working within a PBS Framework
Working with and supporting people whose behaviour is described as concerning or challenging
NVQ2 in Health and Social Care (or equiv) and committed to achieve NVQ3
Able to identify, innovate and implement new ideas that support service users
Effective communication skills with both service users and staff
Ability to write high quality reports
You will be a strong team player with great communication skills, have the ability to work under pressure, and above all be passionate and committed to the development of the young adults we work with.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with a range of staff in a variety of teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour
