: Home Support Assistant (Sitter Service)

: 12.60 per hour

Hours

: Between 12 and 16 hours per week, Monday to Thursday. 4 hours per day.

We are looking for a kind, reliable, and patient individual to provide home-based support for a lady in Kilmarnock who is currently experiencing mild memory issues and a decline in her mobility.

About the Role:

This is primarily a sitter's service to ensure the lady is safe and comfortable while her daughter is at work. The role involves:

Providing companionship and support

Preparing drinks, snacks, and light lunches

Assisting with light household tasks, such as tidying the kitchen or changing bedding and nightwear if required.

Offering support with some elements of personal care if needed

Encouraging comfort and reassurance throughout the day

The lady spends a significant amount of time in bed, so the focus is on making sure her needs are met, and she is not left alone for extended periods.

Requirements:

Compassionate and respectful approach Experience supporting someone with memory loss is desirable Ability to manage light household duties confidently Dependable and punctual Enhanced PVG check (or willingness to obtain one)
Schedule:

Monday to Friday, with hours typically ranging from 12 to 14 4 days per week. Flexibility within daytime hours is appreciated.

Two up to date Reference contacts are required one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition, a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer).

Probationary Period attached is 6 months to this post. During this period, either party can end the employment by giving the other one weeks' notice.
