We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing exceptional care and assistance to children and young people with diverse needs. Responsibilities
Assist children and young people with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support when necessary.
Support medication administration and ensuring proper documentation and safety protocols are followed.
Where required, support with enteral feeds. Where needed assist with promoting social engagement via various activities within the community.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties within living areas, common spaces, and personal care areas.
Implement personalized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as nurses and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
Document all care activities meticulously in compliance with healthcare standards and privacy laws.
Requirements
Proven experience working with children with a varied range of needs within the home & community care environments is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration and moving and handling.
Certifications such as the Care Certificate are required; additional trainings - NVQ L3 in Health and Social Care is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities, developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging service users positively.
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed.
