Support Worker
Job Description
Bridge Gate Homecare Ltd is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to provide person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and challenging behaviours.
You will support service users to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes and within the community, following individual care plans and positive behaviour support strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support in line with care plans
Support with daily routines, prompting independence
Assist with domestic tasks (cleaning, meal preparation)
Support community access (walks, shopping, appointments)
Promote emotional wellbeing and reassurance during anxiety
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours safely
Respect cultural, religious, and personal needs
Maintain accurate daily notes, ABC charts, and incident reports
Work professionally as part of a wider care team
Follow CQC standards, safeguarding, and company policies
Essential Requirements
? Caring, patient, and reliable
? Good communication skills (spoken & written English)
? Ability to remain calm under pressure
? Willingness to work flexible shifts
? Right to work in the UK
? Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
Driving if possible
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: 13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
Work Location: In person
