Hours available to cover on a permanent contract to be agreed:
Morning shifts- 7-9am - 7 days a week
After college shifts- 4-6pm - 3 days a week
Evening shifts- 6-8pm- 7 days a week
Weekends- 9am to 5pm
Days off college and half term- 9am to 4pm- normally twice a week

Salary: 18.00 per hour (with the addition of any travel expenses)
We are seeking individuals who are interested in committing to a longer-term contract and the development of close working relationships in order to support a 20-year-old into adulthood. It is an exciting and rewarding position to help develop their independence within their home and in the community, to live life to the fullest and develop their skills.
Our client has complex healthcare needs including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, learning disability and hearing loss. She attends post-19 education three times a week during term time but requires personal care assistance in a morning and evening along with some support after college, on her days off and during holidays from college. She is able to walk slowly with assistance but uses a wheelchair for longer distances and she has a communication device to aid verbal skills.
You are expected to have proficient written, communication, problem-solving and care skills. All essential and specific training will be given to help you fulfil your role.
If you do not hold a valid NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) we will enrol you onto The Care Certificate qualification, which we expect you to complete within your first 6 months of employment.
Your Role:
Maintain accurate and detailed (daily) records.
Uphold CQC's 5 key questions at all times: Safe, Effective, Caring, Well-Led and Responsive
Support the client in all daily tasks and deliver personal care: including: continence issues, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and support with meals
Assisting the client to learn domestic skills such as laundry, cleaning, cooking and selecting appropriate food and shopping, and to take responsibility for such skills, as many will be outside of the client's capabilities initially
Administer/dispense/record administration of medication as prescribed and documented in the Support Plan following training, and following the MSPCM policy and procedure
Ensuring all client documents are kept up to date in accordance with MSPCM policy and ensuring the prompt and accurate logging of any Accident/Incidents/Near Misses and escalating these to the Case Manager
Move and handle as recommended in the moving and handling training and as per MSPCM policy and procedure
Cleaning client's rooms and any associated equipment
Enable the client to live as full, active and comfortable life as possible, planning and arranging social and recreational activities within the home and in the local community, motivating and encouraging participation in such, taking into account the client's health and medical condition (including horse riding and social events)
Reinforce and assist in any therapy programmes, including Occupational therapy and Physiotherapy programmes under the guidance of the necessary professionals
Travelling with, act as driver, or take responsibility for the client when travelling, ensuring that safety is a priority
Effectively communicating with the multi-disciplinary team, with the client and their family/friends, and within the care support team. This may involve the highest degree of sensitivity and insight into family dynamics.
Ensure client confidentiality in record keeping and discussion concerning the client with their dignity, respect and privacy always being maintained
Undertaking any other appropriate and reasonable task in relation to the employment as agreed with the client's family and Case Manager.
