Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need, including seniors and those requiring hospice or home care. Your support will enhance their quality of life, ensuring they receive the attention and care necessary for their well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in various settings, including assisted living environments.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with mobility and transport clients as needed, which may include driving them to appointments or social activities. Support clients with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as required. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Document client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel. Engage in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care, hospice care, senior care, and home care.

Qualifications

Previous experience in patient care, hospice care, home care, or senior care is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary when assisting clients with mobility. A caring nature with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when required. Certification in first aid or CPR is an advantage but not mandatory. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity at all times.
