Job Description

Role Overview:


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care and Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs, including physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and learning disabilities. You will promote the well-being, safety, and dignity of service users while supporting their independence and helping them achieve personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:



Personal Care:



Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support with toileting, continence management, and overall comfort.

Daily Living Support:



Help service users with daily routines, including meal preparation, eating, and medication support. Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.

Emotional and Social Support:



Provide companionship and engage service users in meaningful activities. Encourage social interaction and community participation through recreational activities.

Health and Well-being:



Monitor and report on physical and mental health, supporting healthy lifestyles. Encourage exercise, nutrition, and overall well-being.

Risk Assessment and Safeguarding:



Conduct risk assessments to maintain a safe environment. Identify and report safeguarding concerns following company policies.

Documentation and Reporting:



Maintain accurate care records, including daily logs and incident reports. Communicate effectively with colleagues and other professionals.

Professional Development:



Participate in training to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge. Attend supervision sessions and team meetings to review care plans.

Compliance and Safety:



Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and relevant legislation. Respond appropriately to emergencies, including administering first aid when necessary.

Person Specification:



Skills & Abilities:



Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, patient, and committed to high-quality care. Flexible and adaptable to individual service user needs.

Qualifications:



Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards). Basic understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and care standards.

Experience:



Minimum of 6 months' experience in a care or support role. Experience with disabilities, mental health conditions, or elderly care is advantageous. Two professional references from previous employers covering the last 3 years.

Personal Attributes:



Empathetic and caring. Reliable, trustworthy, and well-organized. Resilient and able to manage challenging situations.

Other Requirements:



Satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with update service. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full UK driving license (if required).
