We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role is vital in supporting clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments.
Duties
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to promote a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Skills
Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is highly desirable.
Proficiency in first aid techniques and emergency response procedures.
Strong behaviour management skills to effectively support clients with diverse needs.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols and nursing principles is advantageous.
Ability to provide childcare support when necessary, ensuring a nurturing environment for young clients.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
