Description of Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support a young man with a severe brain injury living in the Nottingham area. Our Client is 23 years old, he loves football (Leeds United), Music and Socialising.
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join his team as brain injury support workers. You will deliver his support, clinical needs and rehabilitation plan under the direction of the case manager and treating clinical team, supporting him to live the best life possible.
You will initially offer support in a rehabilitation unit in the Loughborough area, progressing towards sporting in the community. It is a requirement that any successful candidate is willing to work in the rehabilitation unit on a temporary basis with Nottingham being the primary work base
Essential Requirements:
Water confident
Passion and enthusiasm
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of brain injury
Driving Licence
Desirable Requirements:
PEG
Switching/ assistive technology for communication/ environmental control
Clinical observations - Heart rate, Pulse, BP, Stats
Medication Administration
Working hours:
24 Hours per week
9am - 9pm Initially, in the long-term over 24 hours a day including waking nights
Monday - Sunday availability
Rates of pay:
Monday-Friday: 17.00 per hour
Saturday-Sunday: 20.00 per hour
Waking Nights: Standard hourly rate
Sleeping Nights: NLW
Bank Holidays: Double pay
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided.
