Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support and assistance to meet an individuals needs, ensuring that he is able to access activities and local community, meal prep and shopping, support with structuring his daily routine and support him with looking after his animals. This role is 16 hours per week Monday- Friday, this client is a older gentleman who would prefer a male support staff to support him with his needs. He has large dogs, so staff must be confident with with animals. The perfect candidate for this client needs to have good, clear communication skills, be proactive and able to encourage tasks, whilst being mindful of clients mobility issues and fatigue.

Duties



Assistance with daily living activities such as daily routine at home, shopping tasks and meal prep, accessing local community and supporting with medication prompts as needed. Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met. Assist client with mobility and fatigue management, promoting independence while ensuring safety. Engage client in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals. Collaborate with Amber Complex Care, Case Manager and family members and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each client. Uphold the dignity and respect of all client while providing compassionate support.

Qualifications



Previous experience in home care, buddy style work, personal assistant work would be desirable. Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices. Excellent communication skills both written and spoken English with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules. Relevant qualifications or certifications in health or social care are an advantage but not essential. Full UK drivers Licence
