Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, including those in assisted living, nursing homes, and care settings. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia. The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering patient care while ensuring safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist with mobility and transport clients as needed, including driving them to appointments or activities. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when necessary. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each client's needs.

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is advantageous. Experience in caregiving roles that involve heavy lifting or physical assistance is preferred. A background in nursing or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory. Candidates should possess a valid driving licence and have experience in driving clients safely.
