Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, and nursing homes. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia care.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed treatment plans. Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met. Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions and emotional well-being. Facilitate social activities and companionship to enhance clients' quality of life. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Document client progress and report any changes in condition or behaviour to the relevant healthcare professionals. Perform heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used for client safety.

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or similar settings is essential. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly beneficial. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient care and compassion. Ability to administer first aid when required and maintain a calm demeanour in emergency situations. Proficient driving skills may be required for transporting clients as needed. Experience in childcare can be advantageous when working with families that require support across different age groups. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
