Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and delivering high-quality care in various settings such as home care, hospice care, or community support.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide emotional support and companionship to clients. Help with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed treatments. Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation and household tasks. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required. Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behaviour or condition to the relevant professionals. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.

Skills

Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and compassion. Knowledge of first aid procedures is advantageous. Experience in childcare or working with vulnerable populations is preferred. Ability to drive and possess a valid driving licence for transporting clients. Familiarity with home care practices and hospice care principles is beneficial. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 33 per week
