We're on the lookout for passionate Support Workers to join our dedicated team in our supported living service in Newport. You will be supporting five independent adults who live in their own self-contained flats in a lovely building with a lovely view of the River Usk, to live independently. We have 2x18 hour per week, permanent position available: o Requires full flexibility to work various shift patterns including, days, evenings, sleep in, weekends and bank holidays. o Sleep In shifts are paid at a set rate for a 9 hour sleep in between 10:30pm and 07:30am in addition to your contracted hours If you're ready for a rewarding role where you'll build meaningful relationships, support independence, and be part of a team that truly makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you

About the role



This service in Newport Town Centre is the home of 5 individuals with learning disabilities. As a Support Worker you will actively support and assist with daily living skills and activities of choice to enable each individual to be as independent in these areas as possible.


Key Duties will Involve:



Providing person-centered support for daily needs, including the possibility of personal care (showering, bathing, brushing teeth, continence care, etc.). Supporting dietary needs and food preparation. Offering emotional support. Completing cleaning and administrative tasks. Administering and managing medication. Monitoring individual medication stocks and finances. Bringing innovative ideas to improve team practices.

Skills and Experience Needed



A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Pay and Pensions



24,531 FTE (12.75 per hour) Sleep-in rate: 62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week. Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am Enhanced DBS which we will pay for Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed Pension Choices: + Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or,
+ Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service.
3 x Life Cover linked to pension membership Saving scheme with competitive interest rate Give As You Earn scheme for tax efficient charity donations From 1st April 2026 the option to be either weekly or monthly paid.

Time off and Flexibility



26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days' annual leave. Maternity & Adoption Leave: 20 weeks Paternity Leave: 3 weeks

Wellbeing



Sick Pay, rising with length of service up to 6 months full pay after 4 years. Eyecare: Up to 100 reimbursement towards eye tests and glasses. Free counselling, coaching, wellbeing team, and OH service to all colleagues Annual Health Check Health Cash Plan
