working in our Cypress Road service in

Normanton (West Yorkshire).

Pay rates

start at 12.27 an hour with weekends, evenings, and nights paid at a higher hourly rate. We also pay Non-Customer Contact Time between consecutive sessions of support which are less than 2 hours, and double pay on Bank Holidays..

Contract

: This is a permanent role with a contract

Shift patterns:



Days- 7.00-11.00 and then 14.00-22.00

Sleeps 22.00-7.00

Waking nights 22.00-8.00

To make it fair for all staff we do require a degree of flexibility with shift patterns to meet the requirements of the people we care for. Staff are required to work 2 weekends per month.

Shifts vary based on the needs of the service and can be variable. However rotas are sent out 2 months in advance, and a typical full time worker will always have 2 days off together.

Hours

: We offer part time hours as well as full time hours. Weekly hours can vary but are tracked monthly. E.g. someone working full time may not work exactly 37 hours per week but will work 148 hours over the month.

Key responsibilities:



As a service that operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, our Cypress Road service in Normanton (West Yorkshire) offers essential respite care for up to four adults with autism, learning disabilities, and/or physical disabilities. We're looking for Support Workers to be primarily based at the respite service, however there may also be opportunity to work across the wider Avalon services in West Yorkshire. Full-time, part-time, and casual contract options are available, allowing you to join a new role which respects any commitments you already have. As a Support Worker, you'll be part of an experienced and passionate team delivering vital support to our customers, including personal care and administration of medication. In this short breaks service, your support will also be providing valuable respite for our customer's friends and family - this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference within your community. Essential criteria:



Proactive person who can use your own decision making skills. Driving licence with your own vehicle for work use is preferred (This is essential for full time hours as travelling would be necessary).
