We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, helping them to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and preferences, ensuring that they receive the highest standard of care and support.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
Support clients in accessing community resources and services.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, fostering trust and open communication.
Monitor clients' wellbeing and report any concerns or changes in their condition to the appropriate personnel.
Encourage clients to engage in social activities and pursue their interests.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support tailored to each client's needs.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Empathy and patience when dealing with individuals facing challenges.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining client records.
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to care settings is advantageous.
Previous experience in a support or care role is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
