Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being. Support clients with mobility issues, including heavy lifting when necessary. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with specific challenges. Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs. Drive clients to appointments or social outings when required.

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is an advantage. Background in nursing or caregiving is beneficial. Knowledge of first aid practices is essential. Experience in home care settings is a plus. A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
