Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This position requires a patient and empathetic approach to enhance the wellbeing of those under your care.

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary. Engage in activities that promote mental and physical health, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Ensure the safety and comfort of clients during their stay in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their needs are met during transportation.

Experience

Previous experience in patient care, home care, childcare, senior care, or dementia care is highly desirable. Familiarity with the needs of individuals in various settings such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities is an advantage. A caring attitude with excellent communication skills is essential for building rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients with mobility issues.
