Our Support Workers do an incredible job, supporting our residents who live with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs to live as independently, happily, and healthily as possible.

The team at The Guinness Partnership is growing and we are looking for people who genuinely want to make a positive difference to others.

As a Support Worker, you would be supporting our residents with their daily routines and helping around the home. This would include supporting with personal care (washing/dressing/toileting), helping to prepare meals, and keeping the home tidy and safe. You will also be working with our residents to develop the skills needed to achieve their individual goals as well as encouraging them to get involved in their local communities and social activities. The support we provide is centred around our residents; we support them to live they life they want to live.

No day is ever the same! Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support with personal hygiene, including toileting, bathing & dressing
  • Ensuring customers receive their medication on time and it is recorded appropriately.
  • Meal planning, nutrition advice and preparing meals.
  • Everyday household activities such as cleaning & laundry.
  • Working on skill development to further independence and providing emotional support.
  • Assisting with organisation of personal finances.
  • Providing mobility support, including assistance with walking aids and wheelchairs.
  • Identifying different opportunities for our residents such as leisure activities which may include bike rides, beach walks, sport activities or trips into town.
  • Helping our residents with social connections by accessing the community, and exploring new work placement or volunteering opportunities when they are ready to do so.
Customers are truly respected and valued as individuals within our service which is why Guinness are rated outstanding by the CQC. What you need to work as a Support Worker with The Guinness Partnership:
  • Experience is not essential as we provide full training and support
  • You should be comfortable supporting customers with personal care
  • You should be flexible to work shifts with early starts and late finishes (between the hours of 7am-10pm) and work alternate weekends (both days)
  • Above all, you need a real desire to care and support others
