Jump on board with an amazing opportunity at Bolton Cares, as a Support Worker within our Outreach service. Outreach support people who are living with mental health and/or, a LD, autism, etc. Duties include supporting people with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping and managing bills, managing appointments and supporting people to access the community. We are a specialist team based at the Thicketford Centre but supporting people who live in the community across the borough of Bolton.

About the role:

As part of a team, you will be supporting people with complex needs including mental health, autism, and learning disability. You will also be supporting people with complex lifestyles and who misuse alcohol and drugs. We pride ourselves on matching people we support with the right staff as this is essential to achieving positive outcomes from the support we provide.

You will also support people to:

Manage their finances Attend health appointments Engage in drug/alcohol therapy Maintain their housing tenancy Integrate/participate in their local community
The service operates between 8am to 8pm and you will work your contracted hours over 5 days each week on a rota which includes weekends (averaging one weekend in three at this moment). There is also a 10% pay enhancement for any hours worked at the weekend. We offer 20hrs, 25hrs, 30hrs and 37hrs contract depending on the needs of the service.

It is essential that you hold a full driving licence and have access to a car on a daily basis, You are required to have business insurance to enable you to claim a mileage allowance which will be paid for any journeys you are required to make.

Experience and skills required:

Must have experience supporting adults within a social care setting. Experience of supporting individuals with a learning disability, mental health or an autistic spectrum condition would be preferable. Ability to develop supportive relationships, promoting independence and wellbeing. You will be highly motivated to deliver outstanding care and support. Have the ability to work in a person-centred way.
