I'm a 23-year-old man looking for someone upbeat, energetic, and positive to support me with activities I enjoy and to help me build my confidence and independence
About the role
Hi! I'm a 23-year-old guy looking for someone upbeat, energetic, and full of positive vibes to join me in doing the things I love. I have severe epilepsy, which has caused a brain injury, so my days can vary depending on how I'm feeling. My seizures are usually in the mornings or evenings, and I use Buccal medication when needed.
I'm also awaiting an autism assessment, and I know that having a good routine really helps me stay calm and happy.
I'm close to my family, but I'm ready to build my independence, try new things, and make new friends -- and that's where you come in!
A Bit About What I Enjoy
Going to cafes, bowling, and the cinema
Spending time with animals - they really help me relax
Getting creative with woodwork and making things (I'm pretty good at it!)
Keeping things chilled in the evenings (I like an early night!)
I don't need personal care unless I've had a seizure, and I'm definitely not a morning person
The kind of person I am looking for
Take a calm and reassuring approach
Be patient and take time to understand my quirks
Engage with me and be open to trying new activities
Have a firm but supportive attitude
Work in a person-centered, enabling way
Share some of my interests (this would be a real bonus!)
Drive with a clean license and have access to a vehicle
You'll be supporting me mainly at weekends and flexibility is essential, as if I've had a seizure, I may not be able to go out that day.
What you can expect from me

Access to training and development opportunities
5.6 weeks' annual leave (pro-rata)
A good rate of pay (15.70 per hour)
Access to a PA Support Program and Blue Light Card scheme
