An exciting opportunity is available to join a support worker team in caring for a 14-year-old female at her home in Peterborough. The ideal candidate is expected to have experience caring for children or young people with disabilities and complex care needs, have a compassionate and professional work ethic, and be committed to providing high-quality care in accordance with CQC standards.

The Client

The client is a sociable and fun-loving 13-year-old female, who has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and is a wheelchair user and a non-verbal communicator. Full support is required to assist the client with all activities of daily living, physical therapy goals, maintaining safety, and engaging in hobbies.??

The Role

The candidate will work in a family-centred way and provide a high standard of therapeutic support in line with the care plans and therapists' guidance.

Administration of medication, personal care, Jejunostomy feeding, chest physiotherapy, and safe manual handling are some of the skills required for this role.

Training, support and guidance will be provided by the family and the case manager, who will oversee the care team.

Skills Required

Experience working with children or young people with additional health and learning needs. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team. Reliable, punctual, professional and friendly. Experience in manual handling, personal care, medicine administration and enteral feeding. Refresher training will be provided. Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal. Must have a satisfactory DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
