We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living and home care environments. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and physical disabilities and general caregiving is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred care with empathy and professionalism.
Duties
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed plans
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life
Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Support clients with mobility through safe transfer techniques and the use of mobility aids
Manage behaviour effectively, particularly in clients with behavioural challenges
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid procedures when necessary
Document care activities accurately and report any concerns to supervising staff
Skills
Proven experience in assisted living
Knowledge of patient care practices with wheel chair support and mobility aids
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for client transfers or mobility assistance
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
Basic first aid certification is preferred, but not essential as we provide all training
Valid driving licence for transportation duties; reliable vehicle is advantageous
Ability to handle behavioural management strategies effectively in challenging situations
Organisation skills for managing medication schedules and daily routines efficiently
