Support Worker
Job Description
We are looking for experienced support workers to join their existing team within a family home in the outskirts of Preston, Lancashire.
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, hardworking, reliable and motivated individuals to support a non-verbal 16 year old with epilepsy and complex needs. The role includes helping him with all aspects of his daily life including his personal care, administering medication, keeping him safe at home and in the community and helping him with his therapies. Most importantly, this role would suit someone who likes to play, have fun, will relish working within a busy family household, enjoys being creative and physically active.
This rewarding role is a full time with three shifts a week for 3 weeks (42hrs per week) and two shifts week for 1 week (28 hours). Shifts are 14 hours long from 07:00 - 21:00.
This role offers a competitive salary of 15.50 per hour during the week and 16.50 per hour at weekends with a pension scheme and annual leave.
Experience of working with young people with disabilities is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided, but a positive attitude, flexibility and good work ethic is essential.
Please note that the family have four dogs so applicants must be comfortable with pets.
