Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals with varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and comfort, and promoting their overall well-being in a group home or community setting.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, medication administration, and light housekeeping. Monitor and document clients' vital signs and health status while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social activities and promote their independence through direct support. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences. Support clients with mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing regular cleaning duties. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or group home settings is preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and patient monitoring practices. Familiarity with caregiving for individuals with disabilities, including autism and developmental disorders. Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others improve their quality of life. Experience in memory care or long-term care settings is a plus.
