Support Worker's

to join their team.

Pay Rate: 12.60 per hour

FTE Salary: 24,570

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week.

Days 7.30am to 8.00pm, nights 7.30pm to 8.00am must be flexible



Yew Tree Lodge is a residential home located in Reading, Berkshire. We offer 24-hour support and rehabilitation to 16 male and female adults, with severe and enduring mental health needs. We can provide respite services for the local area, assist people to step down to us from hospital, and provide the specialist care needed to avoid further hospital admissions. Our team is dedicated to supporting the people we care for to regain control of their lives, encouraging them to do as much as they can for themselves.


It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people's lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

As a

Support Worker

, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you'll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals Assistance and support to attend medical appointments Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

Qualifications and Skills



Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature Empathy, understanding and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges Competent in verbal and written English A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.
