: Support Worker (Adults' Services)

Service Overview

Our Adults' Services provide person?centred care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and age?related challenges. We promote independence, dignity, and inclusion within the community.

Role Purpose

As a Support Worker, you will deliver high?quality care and practical assistance to adults, enabling them to live fulfilling lives. You will work closely with service users, families, and professionals to ensure safe, compassionate, and compliant support.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day?to?day personal care, including assistance with meals, hygiene, and mobility. Support service users in developing life skills, independence, and confidence. Encourage participation in social, educational, and recreational activities. Administer medication in line with policies and training. Maintain accurate records, care plans, and incident reports. Safeguard service users by following safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection procedures. Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external professionals. Contribute to team meetings, training, and continuous service improvement.
Person Specification

Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Basic IT and record?keeping skills. Commitment to safeguarding and equality.
Desirable

Experience in care or support work (paid or voluntary). NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards). Knowledge of local community resources in Reading.
Working Hours

Full?time and part?time roles available. Shift patterns may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleep?ins.

Salary & Benefits
