About the people and their home

1 Fengates Rd is a residential home for adults with Autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs. Members of the home are supported with person-centred care plans that empower them to exercise choice, control and independence in their lives.

Team members encourage the development of daily life skills, such as cooking, cleaning and laundry as well as support in arts, crafts, social games and exercise.

Everyone at 1 Fengates Rd collaborates on the home's calendar, which includes a wide range of activities, both in the home and the local area, such as socials, choir groups, basketball games, pottery classes, day services and volunteering for local charities. There are regular trips to the cinema, out bowling and to the shops. We also go further afield to many places of interest, such as theme parks and vehicle shows.

We are looking for someone who is cheerful, humorous, and easy-going. Someone sociable who enjoys engaging in communal activities - dining out, grabbing coffee, and all the activities listed above. Their friendly and relaxed demeanour will help create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

About you

Although it would be beneficial to have some experience of healthcare work, it isn't absolutely necessary as we provide full training. As long as you're passionate, hard-working and empathetic, you'll fit right in.
