About Us



Meritus Encompass is a new and growing service providing high-quality, person-centred Daytime Opportunities across Tameside. We support adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and long-term conditions, to access meaningful, community-based activities that build confidence, independence, and wellbeing.

The Role



We are looking for flexible, creative Support Workers to deliver daytime sessions in the community. This is not building-based care and every day is different, and you will be supporting people to take part in real-world activities that matter to them.

You will:



Support individuals to access activities, groups, and opportunities in the community Facilitate 1:1 and small group sessions (3, 5, or 7 hours) Promote independence, confidence, and positive risk-taking Encourage people to develop new skills (e.g., travel, daily living, social skills) Support people to build friendships, explore interests, and improve wellbeing Keep clear, accurate records and contribute to support plans Ensure safeguarding, safety, and dignity always Work closely with families, carers, professionals, and community partners
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, loves working with people, and thrives in community settings rather than traditional care buildings.

About You



We'd love to hear from you if you are:

Compassionate, patient and values-driven Confident supporting people in the community Able to work independently and use your initiative A good communicator with a positive, encouraging approach Reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding Willing to travel across Tameside

Essential:



Experience in care, support, education, community work, or similar Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) Right to work in the UK

Desirable:



Experience supporting adults with LD, autism, or mental health needs Driving licence and access to a vehicle NVQ Level 2/3 Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete)

Hours



Flexible part-time hours
Session lengths:

3 hours, 5 hours, or 7 hours


Weekdays, with occasional weekends depending on demand.
