Support Workers - Day Opportunities (Community-Based)

(Real Living Wage aligned)
Part-time / Flexible Hours (3, 5, and 7-hour sessions)
About Us
Meritus Encompass is a new and growing service providing high-quality, person-centred Daytime Opportunities across Tameside. We support adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and long-term conditions, to access meaningful, community-based activities that build confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
We are a values-led organisation built on dignity, respect, empowerment, and inclusion. As we grow, we are looking for Support Workers who share our passion for helping people live fulfilling, connected lives.
The Role
We are looking for flexible, creative Support Workers to deliver daytime sessions in the community. This is not building-based care and every day is different, and you will be supporting people to take part in real-world activities that matter to them.
You will:
Support individuals to access activities, groups, and opportunities in the community
Facilitate 1:1 and small group sessions (3, 5, or 7 hours)
Promote independence, confidence, and positive risk-taking
Encourage people to develop new skills (e.g., travel, daily living, social skills)
Support people to build friendships, explore interests, and improve wellbeing
Keep clear, accurate records and contribute to support plans
Ensure safeguarding, safety, and dignity always
Work closely with families, carers, professionals, and community partners
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, loves working with people, and thrives in community settings rather than traditional care buildings.
