Support Worker Residential Children's Home



Location:

Winchester, Hampshire

Salary:

25,500 - 28,500 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications) Plus Sleep-ins paid at 50 per night

At Sagewood House, we're creating a warm, stable home for up to 4 children with emotional and behavioural needs. We are building a dedicated team who share our values and commitment to providing our children with the best possible care.

Working Pattern



This is a full-time role based on a flexible rota, including:

Day and evening shifts Weekends and bank holidays Sleep-ins (paid at 50 per night) Every third full weekend off
Flexibility is essential. Rotas are planned in advance, and additional shifts may be available.

What You'll Be Doing



Provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for children with emotional and behavioural needs, including autism. Build positive, trusting relationships using trauma-informed approaches (PACE). Support children with daily routines, including school runs, meals, activities, and bedtimes. Promote independence and help children develop essential life skills through everyday experiences. Respond to challenging behaviour calmly and consistently, using agreed strategies. Act as a key worker and contribute to personalised care planning. Keep accurate records and documentation in line with Ofsted standards. Support the day-to-day running of the home, including shared practical tasks. Stay up to date with safeguarding, policies, and relevant legislation.

You'll need:



To be working towards

or

be willing to work towards completing Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare At least 1 years' experience working with children Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of and children young people A good understanding and a strong interest in safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to drive for work purposes is preferable All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor visa applications for this role.
