Our teams provide individualised care and support for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities living in their community. Richard Silver House is a 5-bedroom home for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and is located a short walk from central Maidenhead. We support customers to be self-sufficient, working with them and their support networks to live their best lives by catering to their individual needs, preferences and interests.
We are recruiting for a
support worker
to work
part-time
covering a mix of mornings, afternoons, weekends and occasional sleep-ins.
Your role will be to support our customers in their day-to-day lives and could include assistance with personal care, managing medication, shopping and meal preparation, and supporting with emotional and physical wellbeing. We also provide support with life skills such as improving confidence, managing finances and being part of the local community to maintain important relationships.
A sleeping night, also known as a sleep-in shift, is where an employee is required to be present overnight but is allowed to sleep during the shift unless their assistance is needed. You must be ready to wake up and aid customers when called, which could involve helping with personal care, providing reassurance or responding to emergencies. Secure facilities are provided.
Experience in the care sector would be beneficial but is not necessary as full training is provided, including classroom-based learning, shadowing experienced staff and online sessions.
