We are recruiting experienced and compassionate support workers to join a small team supporting a young man with complex needs living at home with his parents in Romford. The client requires 2:1 support and benefits from staff who are calm, reliable, and person-centred. He enjoys spending time in the community, engaging in meaningful activities, and developing positive relationships with those around him.
Support workers must be confident providing care in a family home environment. The household includes a friendly dog and a cat, so applicants must be comfortable working around animals. The successful candidate will be proactive, consistent, and committed to promoting the client's independence, safety, and wellbeing.
Experience in supporting individuals with epilepsy and complex needs is essential. Applicants should also feel confident communicating effectively with the family and any professionals involved in the client's care.
Typical shifts currently include Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm, and Fridays from 1pm-11pm. Additional hours may become available as the care package becomes more established. Flexibility and commitment are highly valued in this role.
Key responsibilities:
Provide 2:1 support in line with the care plan
Support the client in accessing the community and participating in meaningful activities
Encourage independence and build confidence in everyday living
Deliver safe and person-centred care, including responding to health needs
Work collaboratively with colleagues, family members, and professionals
Essential requirements:
Previous experience supporting individuals with complex or neurological conditions
Confident working within a 2:1 staffing structure
Calm, patient, and compassionate approach
Comfortable working in a home with pets
Reliable and committed to delivering high-quality care
