We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, safety, and independence of clients with diverse needs, including those requiring specialised dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care. Responsibilities
Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Administer medication in accordance with prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records
Assist with meal preparation and feeding to ensure nutritional needs are met
Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through behaviour management techniques and compassionate engagement
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental wellbeing
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Support clients with mobility issues by helping them move safely around their home or care facility
Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring their safety during transit
Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to deliver holistic care tailored to individual needs
Experience
Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care practices related to dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
Experience in caregiving roles involving medication administration and behaviour management is preferred
Familiarity with first aid procedures and basic medical support skills is beneficial
Valid driving licence is an asset for roles involving transportation of clients
Previous childcare experience or caring for vulnerable populations will be considered a plus
