Are you compassionate, positive, and proactive? We're looking for a FEMALE Support Worker to make a real difference in the life of a young gentleman living with a Traumatic Brain Injury. He has a wonderfully positive outlook and enjoys an active, fulfilling lifestyle--whether it's playing golf, hitting the gym, going to the cinema, enjoying hydrotherapy, or connecting with the community. He also participates in regular therapy sessions around the local area.

He lives independently in a self-contained flat within the family annexe, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment. There are cats on the main property, so applicants should feel at ease around pets.

Roles Available:



Part time - 21 hours / 2 shifts per week Days shifts only

Shift Patterns:



Day Shifts:

08:00-18:30 Monday to Friday 10:00-17:00 alternate Saturdays

Pay Rates:



17.50 per hour weekday day rate 18.50 per hour weekend day rate
1.00 per hour less during probationary period

Role Responsibilities:



Promoting independence Supporting with daily living tasks and household duties Assisting with community outings such as golf, gym swimming and attending therapy appointments Assisting to plan, shop, prepare and cook meals Record keeping of all activities

Ideal Candidate



Essential:



A positive and proactive approach Excellent communication skills and effective record keeping Previous care experience Flexible and reliable Driver essential and willing to use own vehicle to transport the client in the community (mileage allowance paid) Comfortable around cats (no allergies)

Preferred:



Previous experience of acquired brain injury

JOB DESCRIPTION:



Job Purpose:

To support your client with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.

Internal and Management:

This role will report to: Registered Manager/Care Manager

Key Duties/Responsibilities for our Support Workers:



Supporting your client to safely lead a fulfilling and more independent life by:

Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, cooking, household tasks and paperwork Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times Participate in learning and development opportunities as required

This is not intended to cover all the responsibilities of the post but to provide some guidance. The post holder will carry out any other duties that are deemed reasonable and appropriate by your Line Manager.



As a term of employment, you may be required to undertake other duties and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required. This forms part of your employment contract.
