Job Summary


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Previous experience in senior care, dementia care, or hospice care is highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess a caring nature, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering person-centred support. Driving is essential

Duties



Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Support with medication administration in accordance with care plans Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation Assist with mobility and transfer tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary Manage behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or challenging behaviours Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when needed

Skills



Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia and Alzheimer's care Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including children and seniors Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support Organisation skills for managing medication schedules and daily routines Driving licence preferred for transporting clients to appointments or activities Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if required

Pay: 18,315.00-31,786.89 per year
