We have a number of vacancies for Life Skills Support Workers to join our existing team in Scunthorpe, supporting adults in their own homes.

Please be aware, this is not a 'domiciliary' position, and does not include multiple calls. You will be based with the same Service User throughout the entire duration of your shift.



The position would involve supporting adults within their own homes and assisting with a range of activities, including every day living needs, such as cleaning, cooking, dressing, shopping, gardening etc as well as assisting with attending medical appointments, assisting and administering medications and promoting and encouraging personal relationships with family and friends. There is also the potential for behaviours that challenge.

We provide mostly 24/7 support, therefore, the shifts could vary from 8am-8pm days, 8pm-8am nights and 8am-11pm (inclusive of a sleep-over)

What we need from you:



Firstly, you do not need experience to join our team, however, this will include lots of mandatory training, a recognised qualification within the first 12 weeks of employment and enrolment on to further nationally accredited vocational qualifications.
You will be assigned a mentor, who has undertaken peer mentor training, so that they are best equipped to support you during the early days (and then on) of your employment. You will also receive as many hours shadowing as necessary to ensure you are comfortable and confident to work alone. Excellent English language skills required.

- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain records.
- Are forward thinking, enthusiastic, able to use your own initiative and have excellent personal management and organisational skills.
- Are able to focus on the task in hand with good attention to detail.
- Can demonstrate reliability and flexibility.
- The ability to manage challenging behaviours, should they arise.
- The ability to demonstrate excellent English language skills.
