Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and care homes. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with dementia or requiring hospice care. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for implementing care plans and ensuring that each individual receives personalised attention tailored to their specific needs.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, daily activities and meal preparation. Implement and follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals to meet the individual needs of clients. Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment. Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare staff. Assist with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols. Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in senior care.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or assisted living setting is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families. A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others, demonstrating empathy and patience. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the service users. Relevant qualifications in health or social care are advantageous but not mandatory.
