We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals. We are currently recruiting for day shifts, and waking nights. The day shift could be a long day (12 hours) or be broken down into split shifts, for the right candidate. The role involves supporting people with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Applicants will play a vital part in enhancing the wellbeing of those in their care through attentive and personalised support.
Responsibilities
Assisting people with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Supporting people to safely mobilise and transfer
Administering medication in accordance with prescribed instructions
Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Providing companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing
Managing behaviour effectively when people present in a challenging way
Assisting with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe environment
Driving people to appointments or social activities when required (if you're a driver)
Monitoring health status and reporting any concerns to the shift-leader or management team
Implementing first aid procedures if necessary and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Skills
Experience in supported living or residential care home environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of learning disabilities and behaviour management
Ability to perform medication administration accurately and safely
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including childcare if applicable
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with people, families, and health professionals
Valid driving licence for transporting people when needed (for support workers recruited for day shifts)
First aid certification is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a caring attitude
