Symbol is a company that supports people with learning disabilities to help them lead truly fulfilling lives.

We are currently seeking Support Workers for our Supported Living Service based in Snodland, Kent.

The service has a mix of people we support varying in age and abilities. Our support is mostly based around encouragement to complete daily tasks and accessing the community and participating in activities and outings.

We require staff with a flexible approach, who are willing to work regular 'sleeps' and weekend work, as well as shifts during the week as most of our clients attend Day Service.

The key responsibilities are as follows:

Role and Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day tasks at home. This could include anything from assisting people we support with housework, preparing food and cooking. Personal care and hygiene, which may include bathing, showering, hair washing, shaving, oral hygiene, nail care and toileting. Organise and plan trips for clients Drive clients to attend appointments, go shopping, pay bills, or simply go for a coffee. Assist people we support in accessing educational, occupational, and recreational opportunities. Participating in the development of Care Plans and having full awareness of any specialist support needs. Administering clients' medication as and when required. Taking responsibility for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of the people we support and making sure that clients are always treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

Therefore, to be considered for a role, you should:

Previous experience working with clients with learning disabilities would be advantageous.

Preferably hold a UK driving license, with access to your own vehicle.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Have the right to work in the UK.

A good listener with patience.

Calm, caring and compassionate nature.

Level 2 NVQ Health & Social Care is desirable.

Pay: Up to 23,557.00 per year
