Job Summary

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you support, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in patient care and the ability to manage diverse needs.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation and medication administration. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with special needs or challenging behaviours. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel. Ensure a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is beneficial. Certification in first aid is preferred. A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring transportation of clients. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and client needs. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties. Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 12.21-16.86 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
