About Us:
At Aspens Charities, we provide essential care and support across the Southeast of England for individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. We operate residential care homes, supported living homes, day services, and a vibrant outreach program. Every service we offer is unique, designed to meet the varied support needs of the people we assist.
At St Saviours Road, we provide personalized care to three individuals with diverse needs. Some require 1-1 daily support, while others need varying levels of assistance. We encourage those we support to be actively involved in their care, promoting independence and skill development. Our residents enjoy regular community activities such as attending college, personal shopping, eating out, and even an annual holiday--an opportunity for new experiences and adventures!
Key Responsibilities:
Provide assistance with personal care and daily activities.
Help individuals make healthy lifestyle choices, particularly regarding diet and sugar intake.
Support individuals in attending college and other community activities.
Assist with medication administration, meal preparation, and shopping.
Help with maintaining financial records, medical appointments, and personal care needs.
Foster a positive and supportive environment, offering emotional and social support.
Record daily observations and complete relevant forms like accident/incident reports.
Work closely with your team and management to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Assist individuals in accessing community services and health-promoting activities.
Participate in training, meetings, and development opportunities to ensure best practices are maintained.
Essential Requirements:
Full UK driving licence.
Basic IT skills for record-keeping (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
Experience in a residential care setting.
Knowledge and experience of working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
Understanding of safeguarding adults and best practices.
Positive, professional, and confident attitude.
Must be willing to complete a Care Certificate upon starting.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ in Health & Social Care or willingness to complete it.
Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
