Support Worker: Happiness in Mind Dementia Day Service

Marlborough House, Warrior Square, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN37 6BG

Happiness in Mind is a friendly, dementia-focused day service that gives older people and those living with dementia the chance to enjoy meaningful activities in a warm, safe and supportive environment. While visitors relax, socialise and take part in activities, their carers can enjoy a much-needed break.

Support Worker

to join our team.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will help our clients feel welcome, safe and comfortable throughout the day. Your duties will include (but not limited to):

Welcoming clients into the building and supporting them safely as they leave Assisting with mobility, including wheelchair use Supporting with personal care, including toilet needs Helping clients to eat and drink where required Hosting and supporting group activities Escorting small groups to social events and day trips Providing companionship, reassurance and contributing to a calm, positive atmosphere

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

Warm, kind and patient A confident communicator, especially with older people and those living with dementia Able to work well as part of a small, supportive team
Previous experience working with older people or those with dementia is helpful, but not essential. A formal qualification is not required, though

NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care

(or equivalent) would be an advantage.

Full training will be provided.

Pay and hours

Pay:

12.44 per hour

Hours:

Part-time,

28 hours per week

Opening hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm
